Monerail documentation
Collect and pay out with mobile money across Africa, and issue Visa and Mastercard cards, with one API.
Monerail is one REST API for three things: collect payments from mobile money wallets, pay out to mobile money wallets and bank accounts, and issue virtual Visa and Mastercard cards in US dollars. Everything you can do in the dashboard, your code can do too.

How it fits together
- You create an API key in the dashboard. A test key works on test data, a live key on real money.
- Your server calls
https://api.monerail.com/v1with that key. Amounts are integers in minor units. - Monerail talks to the operators, the banks and the card issuer, and records every movement in a ledger.
- Webhooks tell your server when something changes, so you never have to guess.
curl https://api.monerail.com/v1/balance \
-H "Authorization: Bearer mr_test_..."Versioning
Every response carries a Monerail-Version header (currently 2026-10-30). We add things without notice: new endpoints, new optional parameters, new fields in responses, new event types and new error codes. Write your code so it ignores fields it does not know. Every change is listed in the changelog.
Support
Write to support@monerail.com and include the request_id of the call you are asking about. It appears in every error and in the Request-Id header of every response.
